Well, I started my Accutane again! My insurance wouldn't cover the brand name so I got the generic kind, Amnesteem. So far, so good! My skin is actually improving! My larger pimples are already gone and all that is left is just a few itty bitty bumps here and there. My makeup covers it beautifully and it looks great! I still have some dark spots from acne that has healed but like I said, with makeup you can't even see them. I know they will disappear with time and hopefully by the end of my treatment I will see a difference.

I've been carrying water and Carmex with me everywhere. So far I am not too dry. My face isn't as oily but it's not cracking yet. My nose is getting a little dry but it's not horrible. I just put some facial lotion on it and it goes away. The INSIDE of my nose is dry. No nosebleeds yet but I can definitely feel a difference. My lips though are a different story. I am prone to cold sores and the second I got on that medication, my body freaked out and I got a HUGE nasty one on the right side of my bottom lip. It was massive and it got so big, I didn't even want to go to work one day. But I put some Abreva on it and took my Lysine vitamins and it went away in two days. But my lips are still dry so I am slapping Carmex on them every chance I get.

Before I started Accutane, I would get out of the shower and immediately use some Clindamycin on my face right away so it would absorb. I used it in the morning when I washed my face and put on makeup and then at night when I took off my makeup. Now that I am on this treatment, I don't need it anymore. My face isn't oily anymore once I wash it and I know if I used the Clindamycin, it would dry me out really bad. So now after I wash or get out of the shower, I just use moisturizer. That is INSANE because I've ALWAYS used some sort of medication on my face, since I was 13! And now I don't use any, I just use lotion. I like that a lot!

My skin right now is so incredibly smooth and soft, I am LOVING it! I hope I continue to have good results with it! *crosses fingers* After my treatment is over, I am going to ask my derm. if I can start using Obagi and if it is right for me. I know people who went on that and they loved it! #
