Well, long time no see! I just got back from the derm. yesterday. He prescribed me Accutance and clindamycin again so I looks like that is what I will be taking. However, my insurance wouldn't cover the brand name Accutane itself ($267 a month!!) so I went with the generic brand, Amnesteem. I will be taking 40mg a day (two 20 mg pills twice daily, just to be easier on the stomach). I've already stocked up on Cetaphil, vitamin E, and some really good facial lotion. I know my lips are going to take a beating to this medicine because when I started it last time, they got extremely dry. I am also not looking forward to dry eyes, either. I wear contacts and I really don't want to have to switch to glasses when the time comes. Oh well, though.
My only concern is how dry my skin is going to get right now on these. I made the mistake of starting this medication now and it is about to start snowing here. So I will be on it for five months - five months of winter! That is definitely not going to help my situation at all. But oh well, I already have the medicine so let's do it.
Does anyone know where I can buy Aquaphor? I am having problems finding it and I hear it is the best!
